verz returns to Hundred Years Gallery on March 2nd. Ryoko Akama and I will perform While Listening, by Thomas Martin Nutt (featured on VI007, dear martin). Guests Sonic Luz (Klaus Filip/noid) will perform with DIY optical synthesisers.
The following evening we’re in Huddersfield at Coffee Evolution. Sonic Luz perform again, and I’ll play a solo synthesiser set.
First release of 2018 is the debut duo album by James L Malone and myself. Microcomputer feedback vs guitar. Improvisations edited for length, recorded in summer 2017, and available now on Confront Recordings. It’s a noisy one, this.
Employing subtle sine tone oscillations and field recordings as sonic source material, the two short pieces simply titled “1” and “2” gently explore timbre and presence … This is an excellent, restrained effort, both in terms of content and length, and a thoroughly remedying listen.
